Disengagement has aged Jay Aizen. “A formerly very strong, athletic 60 year old is now an old man,” the former resident of the north Gaza settlement of Elei Sinai told The Jerusalem Post.
It was not the slow shift to 65 that had made the difference, he said, but the loss of his home and neighbors as well as the pride he once had in a well-lived life that has weighed him down physically and psychologically.
“I was always very athletic. I ran and played basketball. I have put on 15 kilos since disengagement,” said Aizen.
He now has high blood pressure and stress-related problems in his shoulder and neck.
“I am not a very happy camper. I am not out there crying the blues, but you are asking, so I am telling you,” said Aizen who now lives in a rented apartment in Ashkelon.
It’s the fourth space he’s rented since his Gaza home was destroyed, not including the two hotels his family lived in immediately after the withdrawal.
Aizen, like 85 percent of the evacuees who chose to live in the 22 new communities set up by the government for them, has yet to move into his new home. Only now is he at the stage where he can design and build the house in an area of Ashkelon, nicknamed “the Golf,” which is likely to be home to 150 evacuee families.
But the thought of a new home has not given him a sense of hope life settlements

Hotel & Motel Management, May, 2010 by Jonathan Barsky, Lenny Nash
Last year, Macau overtook the Las Vegas Strip as the world’s No. 1 gaming revenue market. But how are casino hotels in Macau handling this growth? Can they keep up with new competitors in Asia and how do they compare to legendary Las Vegas ?
While major casinos in Las Vegas have been hit hard by weak consumer spending and sharply declining hotel rates, Asian gambling has started to grow again. As Asia surges out of the Great Recession, hotels in Macau and the Asia Pacific region lead the world in terms of occupancy recovery with double-digit growth. Known worldwide as the “Monte Carlo of the Orient,” Macau is Asia’s largest destination for gambling and now takes in more gambling revenue than Las Vegas. One big factor is location–there are more than one billion potential gamers within a two-hour flight of Macau. Macau is also the only location in China with legalized gaming.
But what is the guest perception of Macau’s casino hotels? The following table provides scores based on guest perceptions of the top 10 casino hotels in Macau and Las Vegas.
Las Vegas has earned a global reputation for its lavish casino resorts. New properties such as Encore and The Palazzo have taken the Las Vegas guest experience to the next level. But Macau is keeping up. New casinos in Macau are attracting gamblers from all over the world. From a facelift of the historical Lisboa to the posh Mandarin Oriental, Macau, casinos are now neck and neck with Las Vegas in terms of overall customer satisfaction. In fact, the top 10 Macau casino hotels received higher scores for rooms and cleanliness. Conversely, guests rated Las Vegas higher in service, location and value.

There are many forms of acne, which would explain why it is so difficult to treat. I have listed several causes of acne and many of those may surprise you, but I also hope that they will help you discover what causes your acne. For instance, a great many people would likely be surprised to learn that acne is not caused by stress, as they may think, but more likely can be attributed to their fancy new perfume or cologne.

The extensive articles on Rumford’s General Assistance program missed a few points that should have been explored.
It is a fact, not an opinion, that Rumford pays $10,000 for the medical insurance for the full-time director. That cost does not show up under her budget. That means that it costs the town $45,000 to administer $35,000 worth of assistance. Compare that to Mexico paying $5,000 for Rumford to administer$40,000 of benefits and it’s obvious why taxpayers voted the way they did.
A full-time director is not needed for an assistance program that handles, on average, five cases a week. That figure would drop to four or less if Rumford didn’t handle Mexico’s cases, too.
Rumford taxpayers are aware of that and they want it stopped medical assisting

Laughter has been called “the best medicine” – and for good reason – a good dose of deep, heartfelt laughter helps pull you through some of the worst times in your life. Being able to laugh at life just makes it easier, doesn’t it?
Laughter is so good for us, both physically and emotionally. Laughter strengthens our immune system, improves our cardiovascular health, tones and relaxes our muscles, reduces depression and anxiety, boosts our productivity and creativity, and does a whole lot more good to our being.
