The first Girl Scout Cookie Sale was held in Valparaiso. The first one-week camping session was held at Indiana Dunes State Park with 50 Gary girls attending. The first charter was issued to five Lone Troop in Gary with a total of 207 girls. |

Camp Tepicon at Tippecanoe State Park was leased with 500 girls camping there. |

The original property for Camp Meadowbrook was purchased at Highway 12 and 149 in Porter County. |

Valaparaiso Council and Gary Council combine to make East-Lake Porter County Girl Scout Council which was to become the Drifting Dunes Girl Scout Council. |

One council patrol attended the first Roundup in Highland Park, Michigan. |

The original Camp Meadowbrook was sold to Bethlehem Steel Company and a new site was bought on 700 North in Porter County. |

"Bubble, Bubble, Toil, and Trouble," a National Wider Opportunity was held at Camp Red Mill. |

The East Lake-Porter Counties Council became Drifting Dunes Girl Scout Council. |

The council service center was moved to 4207 Cleveland Street in Glen Park. |

Cathy Darstek from Chesterton became the first Gold Award Recipient. |

The council service center was moved to Camp Meadowbrook. |

The council celebrated 75 years of Girl Scouting, with an event at Southlake Mall. |
