Girls around the world are engaged in community action projects linked to six theme areas identified by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Theme areas are culture and heritage; health; food and nutrition; education; environment; and peace. By using this kit, girls will be encouraged to think of the global impact of their local efforts.

This program is designed to help girls and adults strengthen their sisterhood bond in Girl Scouting. This kit will give everyone the opportunity to see what goes on beyond their own troop. Adults and girls alike can learn from interaction with other troops. This kit will enable troops to teach and learn, while forming lasting friendships with Girl Scouts.

On February 22nd of each year, all Girl Scouts and Girl Guides take a moment to send mental messages of friendship to their sisters around the world. On this day Girl Scouts in the United States often take time to earn money to donate to the Juliette Low World Friendship Fund.
