TO BECOME A TRAINER

There is a specific process required before training can be facilitated individually.
Volunteers will receive an extensive training program entitled Train the Trainer which will be held at the Drifting Dunes Girl Scout Council Office. This training program is taught by a Master Trainer who has successfully completed five day training by the GSUSA national headquarters located in New York.

Train the Trainer curriculum will include, but is not limited to the following; training techniques, different styles of learning, course designs and delivery processes. All training's are strategically designed to cover specific points within an allotted time frame to ensure proper planning, execution and development of organizational skills.

Once the volunteer has successfully completed the Train the Trainer course they will become an Apprentice Trainer. The apprentice is required to train at least three times, preferably under the guidance of more then one trainer, before she independently facilitates training  The training roster consist of a diverse group of Lead Trainers with experienced teaching techniques, which offers new leaders an opportunity to learn from various perspectives.
Once this process has been successfully completed, and all requirements have been met the volunteer will then facilitate training classes independently, therefore changing her status to Lead Trainer.

The Drifting Dunes Girl Scout Council is very proud of the dedication, commitment and hard work performed by the Council Trainers. I consider it a privilege and honor to work with these women who provide this crucial service to our leaders in such a professional manner. I would recommend you get acquainted with these Council trainers; they are great people to know.
